About the Role:
Due to growing demand across key sectors - including manufacturing, infrastructure, minerals, and energy - we're expanding our control systems team and seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join us in Gladstone.
Candidate Profile:
This permanent role offers the opportunity to work on both greenfield projects and plant upgrades. You’ll lead design development, create technical documentation, and collaborate directly with clients from concept through to commissioning. Expect a balance of office-based design work and hands-on site involvement including data collection, installation support, troubleshooting, and commissioning.

Desirable Experience and Skills:
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake conceptual engineering, investigations, studies, detailed design, calculations, documentation, testing and commissioning autonomously to achieve the objectives of quality, schedule and budgeted man-hours.
- Accept responsibility directly, or through delegation, for the accuracy and quality of electrical engineering and documentation undertaken directly and for that performed by assigned engineering and drafting staff.
- Assist in the preparation of accurate proposals, fee estimates and quotations that fully meet client expectations, as well as minimise risk to the company.
About You
We are looking for a candidate who brings technical/practical skills in most of the following areas:
- Industrial power distribution and reticulation, up to 11kV
- Low voltage and medium voltage motor control and protection
- Design and specification of MCC's, Switchboards, VFD's, Soft Starters
- Earthing system design
- Cable calculations and cable installation systems
- PLC Control systems – design and equipment selection
- Preparation of Installation Specifications and Scopes of Work
- Preparation of Equipment Specifications and Data Sheets for LV Equipment
- On-site commissioning
- Fault finding and troubleshooting
Qualifications/Experience Required
- Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering – recognised by the Institution of Engineers Australia as full chartered engineer
- Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland or eligible for RPEQ
- Knowledge of Australian Standards – AS3000, AS3008, AS61439
- A minimum of eight (8) years relevant Electrical engineering experience, predominately in an industrial and consulting environment is expected
